Terms of Service

Last updated: 1 August 2026

The short version: Life is a tool for organising your own notes. Use it for lawful things. It is provided as-is, so keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose, and don't rely on it alone for anything critical.

1. Agreement

By downloading or using Life ("the app"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. What Life is

Life is an Android application that stores and organises text you enter, and — if you connect it — creates events in your Google Calendar.

3. Your content is yours

You keep all rights to everything you write in Life. We claim no ownership and no licence over it. Your content is stored on your device; see the Privacy Policy.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use Life to break the law, infringe someone else's rights, or attempt to interfere with, reverse-engineer for malicious purposes, or disrupt the app or its connected services.

5. Third-party services

If you connect Google Calendar, your use of that service is governed by Google's own terms and privacy policy. We are not responsible for Google's services, their availability, or changes they make to them.

6. Purchases

Paid features, if any, are sold through Google Play, and refunds are handled under Google Play's refund policy. We do not process payments directly and do not receive your payment details.

7. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend, or discontinue the app or any feature at any time. We will try to give reasonable notice of significant changes, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability.

8. No warranty

Life is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Plainly: automatic sorting can get things wrong, date interpretation can get things wrong, and a calendar event may fail to be created. Do not rely on Life alone for anything where being wrong would seriously harm you — medication timing, legal or tax deadlines, court dates, or medical appointments. Verify anything important.

9. Back up your data

Your content is stored on your device. Uninstalling the app, clearing its data, losing your device, or a device fault will delete it, and we cannot recover it — we hold no copy. Keep your own backups of anything you cannot afford to lose.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or missed appointments or deadlines, arising from your use of the app.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim, or ten US dollars, whichever is greater.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, and nothing here affects consumer rights you have by law.

11. Termination

You may stop using Life at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend access if these terms are breached.

12. Changes to these terms

If these terms change, the "last updated" date changes with them. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
