Who this is about

Life ("the app") is an Android application developed by Barret ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does with information. If you have questions, contact us at the address at the bottom of this page.

What stays on your device

Everything you type into Life — thoughts, tasks, reminders, notes, ideas, shopping lists, appointments — is stored locally on your device in the app's private storage.

Sorting and categorising happens on your device. The app works out what your text means using rules built into the app itself. Your text is not sent to a server to be interpreted, scored, or classified, and it is not used to train any model.

We cannot read what you write in Life. We have no server that stores it and no ability to retrieve it.

Google Calendar

Connecting Google Calendar is optional. The app works fully without it; if you skip it, appointments are simply saved on your device.

If you choose to connect, Life requests one permission scope:

• https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events — to create calendar events

We use this only to create events you explicitly asked for by typing an appointment into the app. Life does not read your existing calendar, does not scan your schedule, does not delete or modify events it did not create, and does not send your calendar data anywhere.

Authentication is handled by Google. Access tokens are stored on your device by Google's own sign-in library. We never see your Google password, and we do not store your Google credentials on any server of ours — we have no server.

Limited Use disclosure

Life's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically, data obtained through Google APIs is:

• used only to provide or improve the user-facing feature you connected it for;
• never transferred to others except as necessary to provide that feature, to comply with applicable law, or as part of a merger or acquisition;
• never used for advertising;
• never read by humans, unless we have your explicit consent, it is necessary for security purposes or to comply with applicable law, or the data is aggregated and anonymised.

Disconnecting

You can disconnect Google Calendar at any time from Settings → Connections → Disconnect in the app. You can also revoke access at your Google account permissions page. Disconnecting stops any further calendar access immediately; events already created remain on your calendar and are yours to edit or delete.

What we collect

Nothing. Life has no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, no tracking pixels, and no user accounts. We do not know how many times you open the app or what you write in it.

If this ever changes, this policy will be updated before the change ships, and material changes will be made clear in the app.

The waitlist on this website

Separately from the app: if you enter your email address on this website, we store that address for one purpose — to email you when Life is available. We do not sell or share it. Reply to any message, or contact us below, and we will delete it.

Children

Life is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Deleting your data

Because your data lives on your device, uninstalling the app deletes it. You can also clear it from Android's app settings. There is no server-side copy for us to delete, because there is no server.

Changes

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date above changes with it. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
